Charming villages in Spain

If you are the kind of person that loves to discover new places, congratulations! We’ll show you some lovely villages to stay for some days while you are resting from your Spanish lessons. Here you will enjoy a relaxing stay in different places of Spain where tasting its gastronomy is a must as well you are surrounded by nature.
Comillas – Cantabria
Comillas is located in the Region of the Western Coast of Cantabria. It is a beautiful town known for its medieval and baroque buildings, as well as constructions by modernist artists such as Gaudí.
Patones de Arriba – Madrid
Patones de Arriba is a typical village of what is known as Black Architecture, because its buildings are built on the basis of slate. On weekends, it is visited by dozens of tourists, which led to the prohibition of access to vehicles inside the town.
Candelario – Salamanca
Located in an environment surrounded by mountains, this beautiful mountain town of Salamanca preserves the charm and particularities that makes it different from other similar places. Without doubt it is one of the most beautiful villages in Spain.
Cadaqués – Catalonia
This fishing village is one of the most beautiful in Spain. It belongs to the province of Girona. The famous surrealist painter Salvador Dalí had his summer residence there and artists of the standing of Federico García Lorca or Pablo Picasso also visited the town.
Altea – Alicante
It is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. Altea the Attaláya of the Arabs is as its old name indicates a beautiful viewpoint on the Mediterranean Sea.
Valldemosa – Mallorca
Its main attraction is the Cartuja de Valldemosa, which was visited in the winter of 1838-39 by Chopin and George Sand. There Chopin composed his Preludes Op. 28 and Sand wrote “A Winter in Mallorca”. In the Cartuja also seasons passed, among others, characters of the stature of Rubén Darío, Jorge Luis Borges or Jovellanos.
Lastres – Asturias
This beautiful villa, whose old quarter has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest with the category of Historic Site, is one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. It is located on a beautiful cliff and descends to the port through a series of winding narrow and steep streets.
