Gardens in Madrid that you might not know

Hello Spaneasiers! How are your classes going? Are you learning all the Spanish you wanted to learn? We hope that you’re enjoying your time in the city, that’s why on today’s post we want to show you some corners that you can enjoy by yourself or with any company that you desire. More specifically, you will get to see three gardens that you can’t miss! Are you ready? Let’s start!

Firstly, we can’t start this post without showing you the most important garden of the capital: The Royal Botanic Garden or as it’s called in Spanish, El Real Jardín Botánico. Have you ever been to this place? If you don’t know anything about it, you need to know that it was created in 1781 for the king Carlos III so his family could enjoy of a bast variety of flowers and plants from anywhere around the globe. Nowadays, anyone can visit it, but the entrance isn’t free as it costs 3€! If you’re an accredited student you only need to pay 1,5€ to relax and have a wonderful afternoon.

By the other hand, the Sabatini Gardens are a great option if you want to walk around the Royal Palace area as they are located next to it and they have incredible views of its north façade. You don’t have to pay to get in so it’s a great option if you are looking for a garden to walk around while you enjoy of the garden and its pond until 10 p.m. In the summer you can go there and enjoy some of the concerts they put up.

Lastly, but not least, we wanted to show you a hidden gem that you can find in the number 7 of the Sacramento Street, near the metro La Latina: The Nun Garden (or as we call it in Spanish: El Huerto de las Monjas). This place is great if you need to relax from the busy city that Madrid is. It’s open from 10 to 5 pm, so you can go there and sit down with a good book while you relax.

And that is everything for today. Which is your favorite garden of all? Did we miss out one spot that we should visit? If you want to discover more secret spots that the city has, you should definitely check this post where we talk about where to have the best patatas bravas in Madrid. See you in the next one, have a good day!
