I was born in Madrid, I am not Gato though. My favourite food is Spanish omelette with onions! On weekends I love hiking in the mountains of Madrid. I’m a big movie buff. One of my favourite Spanish movies is Primos, have you seen it?

Hi, to everyone reading this! I’m Iva, I’m coming from Serbia and I live in Madrid for a bit over two years now. I use to say that when I came to Madrid for studies I barely spoke Spanish, I knew enough to survive…“hola, una cerveza, gracias“ J . But soon I realised that if I want to find my way around I need to start speaking the language. I knew I had less than 6 months to get to B1 level in order to have a slightest chance of getting an internship. So, I’ve started looking. And looking…And looking…but none of it seemed right. Until one day I came across Spaneasy. It took me 5min to get in contact with them, get all the information needed and start with the classes. After my very first class I knew I won’t look elsewhere. Truth be told, I worked a lot to get where I am today, but it wouldn’t be possible without all the help I got from all Spaneasy staff. After 3 months of intensive (group and “one to one”) classes I managed to pass the interview in Spanish and get my first internship. It was stunning, I couldn’t believe it, but it happened. I always laugh at the memory of “one to one” classes with Juan where, even though I couldn’t make a proper sentence, we went through my CV and interview questions. I thought he must be thinking I’m crazy to even try something like that, but he kept pushing me and asking questions… It was a headache back then but some of the answers I used to give him I still use now for interviews.

There are a lot more stories I could tell about my experiences in Spaneasy with different professors on different levels, but there is one general truth…they are all absolutely amazing. All the way up to C1 level, the only thing I could notice is how dedicated and passionate they are about what they do. It’s not only experience and knowledge they have that makes the difference, but the way they organise classes. The way they make no one feel left aside. The way they make going through all the past tenses fun…yeah, fun! Although I thought that’s impossible. The way they adapt to each and every student…all that makes the learning process faster and more fun, and it makes this experience unique!

All in all, if I could go back in time, I’d choose Spaneasy all over again.
