It is essential for every big city to have a wide range of music events so that everyone can enjoy the cultural offer of the place.
Of course Madrid is going to present throughout 2018 in its main arenas lots of different events, including diverse genres and famous international artists.
Therefore we will try to resume as many names and dates as possible, so that you won’t miss the chance of seeing your favorite singer or band.
For those who are in love with the most contemporary pop music and young talents, you will have the opportunity to see artists such as the former One Direction member Harry Styles (31st of March, Wizink Center), the American singer Lana del Rey (20th of April, Palacio de Vistalegre), the British Sam Smith (16th of May, Wizink Center) or the heir of the Motown Bruno Mars (22nd of June, Wanda Metropolitano Stadium).
On the other hand, there will be also artists with decades of concerts of experience, such as the Nobel winner Bob Dylan (26th, 27th and 28th of March, Auditorio Nacional de la Música), the former Oasis member Liam Gallagher (23rd of February, La Riviera), the former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters (24th and 25th of May, Wizink Center) and the former Beatle Ringo Starr (28th of June, Wizink Center).
For rock and metal music lovers, we are going to host some legendary bands such as Metallica (3rd and 5th of February, Wizink Center), Kiss and Megadeth the same night (8th of July, Wizink Center) or Iron Maiden (14th of July, Wanda Metropolitano Stadium). In addition, it is going to be presented the line up of the 2nd edition of Download Festival (28th, 29th and 30th of June, Caja Mágica). The Spanish version of the original British festival already hosted popular artists such as Ozzy Osbourne (who announced it was his last tour ever), Judas Priest or Guns & Roses, among others.
Don’ miss the most ‘alternative’ or ‘indie’ bands, like the one leaded by Jared Leto, 30 Seconds to Mars (12th of April, Wizink Center), the Canadian group Arcade Fire (24th of April, Wizink Center) or the Scottish band Franz Ferdinand (17th of March, La Riviera). The Mad Cool Festival (12th, 13th and 14th of July, Ifema-Valdebebas), despite being only on its 3rd edition is one of the biggest in our country. The most shining names are Pearl Jam, Depeche Mode or Queens of the Stone Age, and the lineup is not completed yet.
The electronic music also finds its place in Madrid in fact we are expecting some of the best djs of the EDM, trance or techno in a festival called A Summer Story. Unfortunately, there are just two names of the lineup confirmed until this moment, but they are the biggest stars of the genre: Armin Van Buuren and Axwell & Ingrosso.
It is difficult to give a complete list of every musical event happening this year in Madrid, considering that there will be soon some other new interesting performances, but with this post we hope to help you being on time to buy the tickets before they get sold out.
